Why we should stop being friends because we like different movies

It’s because the movies are about seduction. There’s an implicit sexual nature to the cinema (darkness, alone, we can be ourselves, tickled, etc). So when you say

“I think people who like CRASH should be thrown from a helicopter.”

or

“I think Johnny Depp is overrated.”

or

Gran Torino is excellent.”

People get mad because it’s like saying the person who seduced you was ugly and you’re a chump. If politics are a litmus test on our values then the movies are the ultimate referendum on taste. So I get why people have wanted to knock my teeth out because of my low opnion of P.T. Anderson (ughhh). I do not relate to people who don’t love Casino. I actually resent friends of mine who say nice things about Forrest Gump. To me that says they don’t know when they’re getting manipulated. That they’re easily bamboozled by sentimentally (and the retarded. BAD MIX). People who claim to like French-New-Wave are liars and don’t appreciate Paul Rudd enough.

The Watchmen is a fun movie.

P.S. Any one who says they lovveeees Akira Kurosawa is full of shit and probably went to Emmerson.

P.P.S. The Graduate is not as good as you think it is.  Ben actually has no discernible character. You’re just projecting onto him.

‘THE THIN BLUE LINE’ IS THE GREATEST DOCUMENTARY EVER MADE.
